In the national research project “Multifunctional Battery Storage System (MBS)” open questions were answered concerning the technical feasibility and profitability of a grid-connected battery storage system using a vanadium-redox-flow battery in combination with the renewable power generation plants PV and small wind power (Sterrer et al., Multifunktionales Batteriespeichersystem—MBS-Endbericht. Industrielle Forschung im Rahmen der österreichischen Programmlinie Neue Energie 2020, 3. Ausschreibung, noch nicht veröffentlicht, 2013). The technical implementation and the demonstration operation of the pilot plant over a period of two years showed that the battery storage system is suitable for intelligent marketing of renewable energy as well as the provision of system services for grid stabilisation. However, the investigation of different operating strategies of the pilot battery-storage system, a large scale storage system and pooled PV/battery storage systems as virtual power plant for the participation at the energy trading market and energy reserve market showed that all operation strategies being considered in this study may not be profitable in foreseeable future. However, if the costs of the battery storage system can be reduced to about 250 €/kWh until the year 2030, the application of the vanadium-redox-flow battery in particular in large-scale storage plants (e.g. 10 MW, 100 MWh) for the participation at the energy reserve market seems realistic.  相似文献

Chemiorheology, i.e. rheological changes during the polymerization, of a biosourced monomer, i.e. l-Lactide, containing fumed silica have been studied. For that purpose, the reaction was proceeded in situ between the plates of a dynamic rheometer. The polymerization kinetics was followed from the variation of the complex shear modulus versus reaction time. Moreover, at temperatures lower than the crystallization temperature, it was possible to follow the crystallization process while the polymerization takes place. Adding fumed silica particles into the monomer leads to the formation of a physical (percolated) network from particle–particle interactions, i.e. silica, in the l-Lactide probably hydrophilic interactions. The gel-like structure was kept while the polymerization as long as the strain remains low indicating that the silica particle network remains weak. Furthermore, the mechanism of the break down of the gel structure under large deformation as well as the recovery was discussed. It seems that the non-linearity effect of the nanocomposites stems in the silica inter-particle interactions. It was found that silica particles do not have any effect on the temperature of crystallization – molar mass relation but could act as nucleating agent.In situ polymerization of l-Lactide in the presence of 5 wt.% of modified fumed silica was carried out in a reactor. It was found that fumed hydrophilic silica leaded to a microcomposite with highly dense agglomerates in the polymer matrix whereas with a less hydrophilic silica it was possible to decrease the size of the agglomerates increasing the dispersion. The finest dispersion state was achieved with the “initiating” functionalized silica leading to a “grafting from” polymerization of the l-Lactide. Such functionalized silica leads to a nanoscale dispersion in a one-step bulk polymerization with only a few small agglomerates.  相似文献

The development of cheap and efficient co-catalysts is crucial to improve the performance of well-known photocatalysts towards the hydrogen evolution reaction. Here, copper hexacyanocobaltate was evaluated for the first time as a potential candidate to be used as co-catalyst coupled with conventional TiO2. Copper hexacyanocobaltate was formed by chemical precipitation in the presence of TiO2, without needing further treatments. The composite exhibited paramount performance towards hydrogen generation, surpassing by up to 16 times the behavior reached with bare TiO2. This composite also overcome the performance of conventional TiO2 modified with copper and cobalt oxides derived from copper hexacyanocobaltate. The enhanced behavior of TiO2/Cu3[Co(CN)6]2 composite was promoted by the efficient separation of photogenerated charge carries, and the faster charge transfer from photocatalyst towards species in solution, as it was proved by the photoelectrochemical characterization of the materials. Furthermore, the composite experienced a slight detriment (15%) in its hydrogen production rate after four consecutive photocatalyst tests. This variation was attributed to the slow leaching of copper in the co-catalyst caused by its partial transformation into metal hydroxides, as it was suggested by the ex-situ XPS characterization. Nevertheless, the structural characterization evinced the presence of the Cu3[Co(CN)6]2 in the composite after long-term use. This study should be considered a proof of concept on a reliable route to obtain appropriate composites for hydrogen production using light as primary energy source.  相似文献

This work is devoted to the preparation of alloys based on intermetallic compounds in the Ti–Al–Si system by powder metallurgy using mechanical alloying and the spark plasma sintering (SPS) method. The aim was to describe the formation of intermetallic phases during mechanical alloying of TiAl15Si15 (wt-%) alloy and to consolidate the powder prepared by optimised conditions. Phase composition, microstructure and hardness of compacted alloy were determined. Four hours of mechanical alloying is sufficient time for preparation of pure elements free material composed only of intermetallic phases. After consolidation, the TiAl15Si15 alloy has a homogeneous structure composed of silicide (Ti5Si3) in aluminide (TiAl) matrix. The hardness of the material reaches 865?±?42 HV 5.  相似文献

To identify new genes involved in 3'-end formation of mRNAs in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we carried out a screen for synthetic lethal mutants with the conditional poly(A) polymerase allele, pap1-7. Five independent temperature-sensitive mutations called Icp1 to Icp5 (for lethal with conditional pap1 allele) were isolated. Here, we describe the characterization of the essential gene LCP5 which codes for a protein with a calculated molecular mass of 40.8 kD. Unexpectedly, we found that mutations in LCP5 caused defects in pre-ribosomal RNA (pre-rRNA) processing, whereas mRNA 3'-end formation in vitro was comparable to wild-type. Early cleavage steps (denoted A0 to A2) that lead to the production of mature 18S rRNA were impaired. In vivo depletion of Lcp5p also inhibited pre-rRNA processing. As a consequence, mutant and depleted cells showed decreased levels of polysomes compared to wild-type cells. Indirect immunofluorescence indicated a predominant localization of Lcp5p in the nucleolus. In addition, antibodies directed against Lcp5p specifically immunoprecipitated the yeast U3 snoRNA snR17, suggesting that the protein is directly involved in pre-rRNA processing.  相似文献

1. Hypertension secondary to renal disease was studied in non-pregnant and pregnant ewes to determine whether there were any changes in arterial pressure and the distribution of cardiac output and, in particular, whether uteroplacental blood flow was affected. 2. In six non-pregnant, chronically catheterized, uninephrectomized ewes, a reduction in renal blood flow (RBF) to 40-50% of control caused hypertension within 3 h. This was maintained for as long as RBF was reduced (72 h) and returned to control 24 h after the occluder around the renal artery was released. When this experiment was repeated in 16 uninephrectomized pregnant ewes (118-134 days gestation) hypertension occurred within 3 h and was sustained for as long as RBF was reduced (between 24 and 72 h). Arterial pressure returned to control within 24-72 h of restoring RBF. 3. Compared with non-pregnant ewes, pregnant ewes had similar arterial pressures, higher cardiac outputs (CO; P < 0.001) and heart rates (HR; P < 0.001), lower total peripheral resistances (TPR; P < 0.001) and similar blood flows to brain, ovary, pancreas, kidney and spleen. Splenic vascular resistance (VR) was greater (P = 0.006), gut blood flow was greater (P < 0.05) and gut VR was less (P < 0.05). Myoendometrial blood flow/g was greater (P < 0.005) and myoendometrial VR was less (P = 0.006). 4. In pregnant sheep with renal clip hypertension, there was no change in CO and HR, but TPR increased (P < 0.01), as did plasma renin activity. Gut, brain, pancreatic and myoendometrial VR were increased as long as RBF was reduced; in addition, myoendometrial VR remained high for the rest of the experiment. Placental blood flow was unchanged at 3 h; 24-72 h later it was reduced (P < 0.05) and remained low. Placental VR was increased 24-72 h after RBF was restored when ewes were again normotensive. 5. Thus, one-clip, one-kidney renal hypertension in the pregnant ewe was due to increased TPR associated with a fall in uteroplacental blood flow that persisted even when RBF was restored and ewes were normotensive. This reduction in uteroplacental blood flow could account for the high foetal morbidity and mortality that occurs in pregnant women with renovascular hypertension.  相似文献

Multiple 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptors have been identified (5-HT1A/1B/1D/1E/1F, 5-HT2A/2B/2C, 5-HT3A/3B, 5-HT4A/4B, 5-HT5A/5B, 5-HT6 and 5-HT7A/7B/7C/7D) and extensive evidence suggests that 5-HT receptors have a role in learning and memory. Indeed, available evidence strongly supports physiological, pathophysiological and therapeutic roles of 5-HT systems in cognitive processes, although the evidence seems incomplete. Indeed, there has been a clear tendency to use pre-learning administration most frequently, whereas post-learning and pre-retention administration protocols have been utilized in only a few studies, and probably this trend has led to missed relevant information. For instance, when pre- vs post-training administration of 5-HT1A agonist, 5-HT2 antagonists and 5-HT4 agonists have been compared contrasting findings were reported in aversive and appetitive learning tasks. Emerging evidence also indicates that 5-HT1A and 5-HT4 receptor agonists, as well as, 5-HT1A antagonists, 5-HT2 antagonists, 5-HT3 antagonists and 5-HT uptake inhibitors may have therapeutic utility in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and amnesia. Inasmuch as the activation or blockade of diverse 5-HT receptors is able to modulate cognitive processes, and 5-HT uptake inhibition could have therapeutic applications in the treatment of cognitive disorders, it seems evident that the role of 5-HT in learning and memory is more complex than a simple imbalance. Consequently, the notion that activation of the 5-HT systems impairs performance, whereas reduced serotonergic function may facilitate learning, must be reconsidered.  相似文献

The three-dimensional (3D) reconstructions of the di-decameric forms of alpha D and beta C-hemocyanins of the Roman snail Helix pomatia and of the decameric half molecules of alpha D-hemocyanin were carried out on frozen-hydrated specimens observed in the electron microscope by using the random conical tilt series method. The three 3D volumes were examined by computing solid-body surface representations and slices through the volume and by eroding the structure progressively through raising of the threshold. The di-decameric molecule of alpha D and beta C-hemocyanins, reconstructed from side views, are very similar and are composed of a cylindrical wall, comprising ten oblique wall units, and of two collar complexes located at both ends of the cylinder, comprising each five arches and an annular collar made up of five collar units. Erosion of the structure reveals that the wall looks like a segment of a five-stranded right-handed helix and that each oblique wall unit resembles a figure 8 inclined to the right. The decameric half molecule of alpha D-hemocyanin, reconstructed from end-on views, resembles the whole molecule, except that the collar is thinner and appears composed of five independent collar complex units. It is suggested that the difference in structural appearance of the collar complex between the whole and the half alpha D-hemocyanin may be due to the missing cone artifact, induced by the angular limitations imposed by the goniometer of the electron microscope. The comparison between the alpha D-hemocyanin and the beta C-di-decameric hemocyanin at high thresholds suggests that in the beta C-hemocyanin the oblique wall units of each half molecule may be linked by two connections, whereas in alpha D-hemocyanin there may be only one. This difference in the number of connections may be responsible for the lower stability of the alpha D molecule at high salt concentration.  相似文献
